This laboratory was established in 1970. The first professor was Prof. Masao Inoue. After he retired, Prof. Ishigaki transferred from DPRI, Kyoto University as a professor in 2004, and Dr. Hiroaki Shimada was promoted as an associate professor in 2005. Then, Dr. Tomohiro Yasuda moved from DPRI, Kyoto University, and was appointed as an associate professor in April 2016. Prof. Tomohiro Yasuda became a professor in 2023.
